Re: Morning has broken

Glad you think the ECT is helping @Eve7  🙂

Re: Morning has broken

Afternoon @Eve7

I had a nice nurse today. When she asked if I had any thoughts I said yes. We spoke a bit. I told her I would be around hubby the rest of the day, so I guess that means I am safe.

I'm so glad to hear that ECT is helping you hon. Hopefully all this time in hospital is worth it.

Spent this afternoon watching the Olympics in my oodie with my blanket. Gee it's cold here!

Not sure if you are still around but a cuppa would be lovely.

Re: Morning has broken

Happy to hear that the ECT seems to be helping @Eve7 ❤️

Lounging in your oodie sounds like a great idea @Snowie . It's cold here too, so I have been rugged up snug and warm.

Heading back down to Southern Tablelands on Friday. It's even colder there, with frosty nights. I was there last week as my Dad's health took a turn for the worse. I had a last minute 7 hr drive to get to see him. I was lucky in that I got there while he was still with it enough to know I was there. Spent the night on a chair in his nursing home room with him. And he passed away the next day (last Thursday). He was 91.

Anyway gotta go back again for funeral next Monday. Will stay with my brother on his farm while there. I miss my Dad. It's strange not phoning him every day. Something I have done every day for the past 5 years since my mum died.

Re: Morning has broken

My sincere condolences @Emelia8 .

I’m glad you were able to speak to your dad.

There’s probably so much happening for you right now..too much to even ‘feel’. Please know we are here if you need a chat.

Hugs

Re: Morning has broken

So sorry to hear about your Dad's passing hon. I'm glad you got some time with him before he passed away. Those moments can never be replaced.

No doubt it would feel strange not talking to him every day.

Like tyme said, we are here if you need a chat, to unload, a cuppa, or just to sit.

Sending lots of love to you and your family 💕💕

Re: Morning has broken

Thanks @tyme @Snowie 🙏

Snowed under with travelling, funeral arrangements, eulogy prep, photos for booklet, choosing music, pallbearers, etc. There is so much to organise when it comes to funerals.

Sadly I've had a few in the last 5 years. The 3 people I am closest to - mother, husband and father.

Helped organise as much as I could before returning home on the weekend. My brother is saddled with most of the hands on local stuff now.

Got my poor puppy Hannah whom I left hurriedly with her breeder when I had to rush off last Wednesday. I just couldn't take her as she gets a bit carsick. Plus I needed to get there asap last week, so I pretty much drove straight through. Having Hannah would have delayed me. 🐕

Re: Morning has broken

That’s so tough… @Emelia8 .

Your resilience shines through.

Can you check-in with Hannah via phone or something?

Do you have people around you to support you right now?

Re: Morning has broken

Funeral plans certainly are hard @Emelia8 There is a lot to organise in a short amount of time. I'm glad that you have your brother to help out. Better than trying to do it all yourself.

Funerals are hard to go to, especially when they are people so close to you, who are so important to you. My heart goes out to you hon. No one should have to go through what you have,

At least you won't have to worry about Hannah, she will be well looked after.

Re: Morning has broken

My dearest friend @Emelia8  I am so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing but it’s good you were with him for his last night.

Please take care of you as you prepare to drive back down for his funeral on Monday.

Your dad has had a good innings to reach 91 but it’s still hard to lose our loved ones.

Thinking of you and sending lots of love ❤️🙏❤️
