I chop up and fry 3 rashers bacon
fry with oregano, soy sauce and balsamic vinegar 1 onion
Cook a whole packet of small pasta shells
mix all that together in large bowl
Make a large amount of white sauce
add a handful or two of cheese to hot sauce and whisk till melted
pour cheese sauce over pasta mix
put in casserole dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs and cheese
put in oven for 30mins brown cheese
voila!

That sounds very tasty @Oaktree and is completely different to the macaroni cheese my mother and grandmother made.
Their recipe was ad hoc but was basically cooked macaroni, beaten eggs. lashings of milk, and lots of grated cheddar, with more cheese on top. Grandma liked to mix in chopped tomato and onion but my mother didn't bother. Baked in a moderate oven until set, and the cheese on top toasted. Comfort food.
I'll try your recipe.
