@Appleblossom  your post brought back a fun memory from 1995 at a zoo.

Took my three children at opening time. The place was empty except for the employees and volunteers.

My son 10, hands and face against the glass, eager to see the lions. Nothing. He crouched down thinking he might see something through the grass.

As he moved, a lioness came out of nowhere. My son was her breakfast.

It was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen! She was beautiful in motion. The stealth and speed of her attack was incredible.
The expression on my son’s face priceless!

Yes it is pretty impressive when the lions paw or pounce on the glass, it might be cos they are squabbling over a piece of meat.
