Re: My Mosaic

She's 8, going on 18... seriously.. @Bow

Kids these days. She drives me bonkers because she's so sharp with her tongue.

You know what @Bow ? You seriously need to start a card making business or something. Your talent is incredible. Did I tell you I used to make wedding invitations and cards? It was so much fun. I didn't do it for money. People just asked for them and they paid for the materials and I made them.

As I've said before, I don't like making things that don't have a purpose and it just stays in the house. I want it to have a purpose. Hence, making stuff for people is great because I don't have to keep them in the house, and I still get the joy from making them.

The cards were on metallic card. I then glue taped a gold strip down one side, printed the couple's names and used pearl rhinestones to decorate parts of the name.... i don't even have photos....

Re: My Mosaic

Oh my D is like that too @tyme  9 going on 19!  I can’t deal! How is my little girl growing up so quickly!

Card making…. I have a pile that I have made at my arts and craft group. I’m not sure what I’m gonna do with them though! I don’t really do cards. I hate writing in them! To sell them at market I would have to get approval. They require approval for any new products and then they only allow a couple of vendors sell the same kind of product. And then I’d need space on our tables!

I didn’t know you use to make them. I did all my own wedding invites, programs, menu… etc.

And that’s why I decided to sell my art… cause there was no space for it at home anymore. Couldn’t just keep making stuff and shoving it in a box and forgetting about it.

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Snowie  👋 💕

I’ve had an ok day. Gp appointment this morning and then just at home. I did a heap more art. Some Christmas ones.

D’s allergies have been bad the last couple of the days. Woke me in the middle of the night and gave me the biggest freight. She wanted a snooty pill (antihistamine).

full day at home tomorrow… hopefully. Think CM wants to come visit though in the afternoon.

how’s your day been?

Re: My Mosaic

Thats no good about D @Bow I hope the meds kicked in quickly and helped.

Great work on doing your art. Was it more for the markets?

My day ok. Hairdressers this morning. Not much else on.

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow @Snowie ...

Argh, kids... they can drive you around the bend... but I have to say, the kids have been therapeutic for me... gets me out and about. And, also, they get me to do things I normally wouldnt.

Hope you've had a good day!

Do you have markets this weekend @Bow ? Or is your mum still away?

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah mum is still away @tyme  not back until next Thursday, so no market this weekend. It’s been nice not having to get up super early!

Re: My Mosaic

Do you think there will be an added demand for products for Christmas? @Bow

What else have you been up to at home lately? The art groups sound amazing. Do they have a set activity each time, or do you go each go there and do craft together?

Re: My Mosaic

Oh yep @tyme ! Lots of people go to markets to do their Christmas shopping. Big following for handmade unique gifts. Plus Christmas themed items too.

Not really been up to too much else. Feel like I’ve got so much to do before we go away.
My arts group, my SW actually runs it each week. She usually discusses with me what we can do! We search Pinterest together to come up with ideas. It needs to be pretty easy. And very low cost. They were donated a HUGE box of scrapbooking paper, so we have spent many weeks making things with that. Lots of cards, calendars, more cards. Such beautiful paper! I went through it yesterday and got all the Christmas coloured paper out cause I’m leading a watercolour Christmas card activity in a couple of weeks. It’s nice to sit down and craft with others. Some don’t talk much and then there is a Spanish girl who is really hard to understand and another girl who has hearing issues so you can talk to her and she doesn’t even hear! Some guys come every week and just sit and chat or play games.
