Re: I can’t cope

Yes @tyme. She breeds chihuahuas and has to move all 7 of them up here when she comes! I’m so glad I’m using all my leave for my inpatient stay.

She is already trying to work it so I can go down and help her. I’ve packed, moved and unpack for her that many times that I can’t even remember!

I love her dearly but she definitely knows to delegate and I’m the sucker that can’t say no!

Re: I can’t cope

Hahahah @Captain24 . I'm glad you've got set your boundaries. Remember to keep those boundaries!

Sounds like she moves around heaps!

Just the thought of moving gives me a headache. I don't like moving. Too much work.

How long have you lived in your current place?

Re: I can’t cope

She does move so much @tyme. Plus Ive had to do so much cleaning and stuff. She does use me a lot and I let it happen. I am scared that I will fall into the same trap.

I’ve lived here for nearly 3 years. The unit before this house I lived in for 7 years. I’ve been back in town for 19 years and this is the fourth place I’ve lived in. The first two houses I didn't leave of choice. One the owner wanted to move in and the other they wanted to do Reno’s.

I despise moving!!

Moving shouldn’t be too hard for you being a minimalist! Just jokes. How long have you lived in your house?

Re: I can’t cope

My current house, I've been living in it for 1.5 years @Captain24 . I still have bags of stuff I haven't unpacked lol! It's in the too hard basket... yes, I'm a minimalist, but I still have stuff. LIke when I went house sitting, I had a car full of stuff. I took my own blankets, sheets, pillows, food, etc. Even that fills a car!

My previous house, I was there for about 5 years, then before that was 8 years...

To be honest, I don't really care much about where live. I never go into a place and say "I'm going to live here forever".

I'm still looking at interstate houses.

Re: I can’t cope

I have unpacked everything @tyme

I get the too hard basket. I threw out a whole garage of shit out when I moved. It had been there for 7 years so I obviously didn’t need it anymore. I did do a quick skim through though to make sure I didn’t need it.

Yes. I get you have stuff, I hope you know I was just joking.

Im not sure I could up stumps and move interstate. I have to consider work and the dogs and stuff. But I do feel like I am home living in this town even though I struggle with it.

So you haven’t been with the monkeys for that long?

Re: I can’t cope

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a move once the monkeys grow up @Captain24 . I'm still looking at WA. One place I haven't been to is NT. I'd like to go there one day.

As for the monkeys tonight, they watched Shrek and then left. I was in a meeting earlier today, and in the background, the little one was like "I need to poo! I need to poo!" Far out! How embarrassing! I told her to leave BEFORE my meeting, but she didn't. She said she wanted to sleep. Yeah right! The next thing I knew, she was singing, wearing my shoes around my place and stomping, then asking to do a poo (because she can't reach the toilet!)....

Joys of kids - and not even my own kids! My sister wasn't home from work yet.

Re: I can’t cope

Are you not worried about how to meet people and stuff @tyme

Ive hardly been anywhere. One day I’d like to buy a motorhome and take the dogs on tour with me.

The little one makes me laugh so

much.. I still remember the ‘who’s doing a wees’ I need to poo is hilarious. Makes for an interesting meeting. It could have been boring otherwise, sometimes meetings need livening up!

Re: I can’t cope

I don't need to meet people @Captain24 . People generally come to me. I'm not one to be tied down my people. I learnt that long ago. "If you like me, sit with me. If not, that's okay."

You know how some people NEED others? I'm not one of those people.

Anyway, there's a thing called internet and phones now... any connection is possible.

Remember when you were a kid? You probably had the home phoned connected to the kitchen wall? That was me lol.

Re: I can’t cope

Fair enough. @tyme. I don’t need a lot of people but I do need my bestie and the friend in town. I just don’t want to be with them all the time.

The phone is great it’s how my bestie and I have stayed connected.

I didn’t have a home phone until I was in year 11 and that was 1993! It was in the ‘sun’ room where everyone could hear what you were saying!

Re: I can’t cope

Yep! The good old days where everyone knew what you were talking about @Captain24 ! How fast tech has advanced! It's scary!

Anyway, I'd better be off. Thanks so much for the chat. I'll catch you over the weekend.
