I am doing okay. Though the near pain free honeymoon period post anaesthetic wore off after day one.
Having moderate pain since, but well controlled with meds. Of concern is that I have weakness in my right leg and it keeps giving out on me. Therefore I have been severely restricted in what I can do.
They ordered an MRI late yesterday to check whats going on. It shows that there has been some decompression of the nerve, but there is still a portion of the disc in contact with it. Not ideal, but its hoped that when inflamation reduces, pain will subside.
I saw my surgeon briefly this morning on his rounds, and he told me I will definitely need a spinal fusion within 5 years. 😔
I have been in the city hospital longer than planned already, 4 nights now. So my Surgeon has given approval to be trfd to my local hospital for rehab today. Just got to wait for the weather to improve, before the air ambulance will operate.
